Senior EIA Consultant
Location: London

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading multi-disciplinary planning and environmental consultancy in their search for a Senior EIA Consultant to join their dynamic team in London.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Environmental professional to take a key role in delivering Environmental Impact Assessments on a wide range of complex and high-profile development projects across the UK.



The Role

As a Senior EIA Consultant, you will take the lead on EIA coordination, supporting planning applications and managing the preparation of environmental reports. You will work closely with project teams, clients, technical specialists and local authorities, ensuring the highest quality of environmental advice and documentation.



Responsibilities

  • Lead on the coordination and delivery of EIAs across a range of development sectors

  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and multidisciplinary inputs

  • Prepare Screening and Scoping Reports, Environmental Statements and supporting assessments

  • Maintain strong client relationships and identify business development opportunities

  • Provide mentorship and support to junior team members

  • Stay up to date with changes in environmental legislation and best practice



Requirements

  • A relevant degree in Environmental Science, Geography, Planning, or a related discipline

  • Relevant experience in EIA coordination and delivery

  • Solid understanding of the UK planning system and EIA legislation

  • Excellent project management and communication skills

  • Chartered status or working towards (e.g., IEMA, RTPI, or similar)
