Research Events Coordinator

Merrifield Consultants are delighted to be partnering with a world-renowned Art Museum to recruit an organised and dynamic Research Events Coordinator. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the museum's research activities by planning, coordinating, and delivering high-quality events that engage both specialist and public audiences.

Role Summary:
Manage the museum's research-focused events, from academic seminars to public lectures. Ensure seamless logistics, excellent visitor experiences, and effective communications. Support the wider research team in delivering a world-class programme of events.

Role Details:

  • Salary: 31,081 per annum

  • Contract: Full-time, permanent - 5 days a week in the office

  • Location: Central London

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of research events, including seminars, workshops, conferences, lectures, and hybrid events.

  • Liaise with internal teams, external speakers, and partners to ensure smooth event delivery.

  • Handle event logistics including venue bookings, AV support, catering, travel arrangements, and security.

  • Maintain attendee databases, event records, and post-event evaluations.

  • Assist with promotional activities, including event copy, digital communications, newsletters, and website updates.

  • Provide front-of-house support and act as a point of contact for visitors and speakers.

  • Support broader administrative needs of the research department, including budgeting, invoicing, and project coordination.

Person Specification:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience.

  • Proven experience managing events, ideally within a large or complex organisation.

  • Excellent organisational, administrative, and financial skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and work collaboratively.

  • Proactive, adaptable, and solution-oriented.

  • Comfortable working in a visitor-facing environment; flexible to occasional evenings or weekends.
