Ovis Coffees is a young and ambitious coffee brand inspired by the rich flavours and warm hospitality of the Mediterranean. We opened our first store in Central London less than a year ago and are now preparing to expand with our second. This is an exciting opportunity to join us as an Assistant Manager and help shape our core team during this expansion journey.
The Role
As Assistant Manager, youll support the Store Manager in the day-to-day running of the coffee shop. This is a hands-on role where youll lead by example, inspire your team, and ensure excellent service standards while keeping operations smooth and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations.
Lead shifts, supervise staff, and provide hands-on support.
Maintain high standards of customer service and ensure Ovis service standards are consistently delivered.
Manage stock counts, place orders, and monitor inventory levels.
Complete daily paperwork and ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Food Safety regulations.
Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.
Handle customer feedback and resolve issues professionally.
Help create rotas and ensure adequate shift cover.
Contribute to a positive, motivated, team-focused environment.
Requirements
Proven experience as an Assistant Manager or Supervisor in hospitality (coffee experience preferred).
Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and motivate a team.
Solid knowledge of coffee preparation and/or food service operations.
Good understanding of Health & Safety and Food Safety standards.
Highly organised with strong problem-solving abilities.
Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while staying calm under pressure.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Flexible to work mornings, evenings, and weekends.
