Your new company

An established Lloyd's broker based in the City is currently looking to recruit a Broker to join their successful Canadian Team. Your new Brokers are an independent specialist Canadian Broker who pride themselves on putting their clients at the heart of the business function. They also pride themselves on remaining an independent, reputable but progressive Brokers. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 4 years' experience in a similar role where you have proven experience on placing Canadian Casualty, Med MAL & E&O risks. This is a well-respected Lloyd's insurance broker that prides themselves on the service they produce.

Your new roleYour new job working as a Canadian Casualty, Med MAL & E&O Broker will be focusing on Canadian Med Mal, GL & E&O risks and you will be responsible for Planning & preparing for each day's broking - this includes reviewing and appraising new business, enquiries and renewals as well as Submitting & negotiating all broking to the Market. Other duties will include developing and maintaining new and existing relationships with Underwriters, Agents and Clients and Researching insurers and their various policies to find the most suitable insurance for clients at the best terms. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, placing risks into Lloyds and dealing with renewals as well as new business enquiries.

What you'll need to succeed

You will have proven experience working as a Canadian Casualty, Med MAL & E&O Broker and a minimum of four years' experience in a placing role. The ideal candidate will need to have strong Canadian Casualty underwriter and market relationships and will need to demonstrate a thorough understanding of London market broking practices & the Lloyd's placement process. Other key traits will include MRC Slip production skills, negotiation with London Market Insurers and someone who has the ability to manage time, priorities and ensure that deadlines are met without compromising quality.
