CFO – Family Office
Confidential Appointment | London | £275k – £350k + Benefits
An exceptional opportunity to join a London-based single family office in a senior leadership role.
The office represents the interests of a high-net-worth family with a well-established UK investment portfolio, primarily focused on real estate, alongside a small number of private investments. With a long-term, multi-generational outlook, the focus is on capital preservation, smart growth, and robust financial governance.
The role
As CFO, you’ll take full ownership of the finance function across the family office and its related entities. This includes oversight of financial reporting, cash and tax management, investment structuring, and stakeholder relationships – all with a strong emphasis on trust, discretion, and long-term thinking.
You’ll be the Principal’s trusted advisor on all things finance, with the autonomy to shape how things are run and continuously improve processes and controls.
Key responsibilities include:
- Full financial leadership across the family office, UK property portfolio, and investment vehicles
- Oversee management reporting, budgeting, and cashflow across multiple UK entities
- Support investment decisions with financial insight and due diligence (primarily real estate focused)
- Manage relationships with banks, tax advisors, legal counsel, and other external partners
- Lead on UK tax planning, trust structuring, and compliance
- Maintain strong internal controls, risk management, and governance protocols
- Act as a sounding board on wider matters such as estate planning and long-term strategy
What we’re looking for:
This isn’t a role for someone looking to “step into” the world of family offices — we’re looking for someone who’s already operating in it.
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified
- Proven experience working in a family office environment – you understand the pace, the discretion, and the personal nature of the role
- Deep understanding of UK real estate investment – including structuring, tax, and operational oversight
- Strong track record managing complex, multi-entity structures (including SPVs and trusts)
- UK-focused – this role centres around domestic property and investments, not international portfolios
- Commercially astute, hands-on, and able to operate with a high level of autonomy and integrity
- Comfortable building trusted relationships with principals, advisors, and external partners
This is a rare chance to play a central role in a highly respected family office, combining technical leadership with strategic influence in a low-profile, high-trust environment.
