Harper May is working with a specialist investment firm focused on providing tailored debt funding to high-growth businesses. As the firm continues to scale and diversify its portfolio, it is seeking a strategic and commercially astute Chief Financial Officer to lead its finance function and help shape the next phase of growth.

Role Overview:Reporting directly to the Managing Partners, the CFO will oversee all aspects of fund and corporate finance, including investor reporting, liquidity management, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning. This is a key leadership role, combining hands-on operational control with high-level strategic oversight in a fast-moving investment environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead fund and management company finance operations, including NAV reporting, fund accounting, capital calls, and distributions

  • Deliver high-quality financial reporting to investors, partners, and regulatory stakeholders

  • Manage external relationships with auditors, administrators, legal counsel, and tax advisors

  • Support fundraising and investor onboarding through modelling, due diligence, and reporting readiness

  • Develop financial reporting infrastructure and KPIs to support business performance and portfolio oversight

  • Drive budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning across the group

  • Maintain strong financial governance, internal controls, and risk frameworks in line with regulatory expectations

  • Contribute to deal execution and structuring, including post-deal financial integration where applicable

  • Lead, develop, and scale the finance function to support future growth

Key Requirements:

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified or equivalent

  • Senior finance leadership experience within a debt fund, credit platform, or alternative investment business

  • Strong technical accounting background with deep knowledge of fund structures and investor reporting

  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks including FCA and AIFMD

  • Commercial acumen and the ability to influence business strategy

  • Exceptional communication skills, with experience liaising with investors and stakeholders

  • Hands-on, pragmatic mindset and a strong sense of accountability
