We have partnered with a well known PE backed brand within the Telecommunications sector in helping them find a Finance Manager - Data & Business Intelligence. This is a newly created role within the UK division with the purpose of developing efficient and insightful BI reporting to support the division in making the right strategic and operational decisions. In doing this you will help shape and drive a consolidated the BI agenda across the organisation, based on one set of core data, a rationalised BI tool set and efficient BI spend. This in turn will help drive the success of the newly formed Business Intelligence & Data function. The key responsibilities will include:Internal Financial Analysis* Using internal Data for the development of weekly financial trading measure to complement volume performance.* Pre/Post Implementation reviews of pricing and promotions across all channels - measuring both the P&L and cash flow impact in year and over customer lifetime.* Calculating the financial impact (Rev and Margin) of customer trade up or trade down on the customer base.* Development and enhancement of products and channel profitability for the UK - to include lifestage profitability and customer profile profitability.* Maintenance of the commercial financial planning models for the rolling forecast, budget, and five-year plan to reflect actual performance, trends, and new pricing/ propositions as they arise.* Building internal capability to calculate financial opportunities or risks.* Development of specific dashboards for financial information to drive insight and decision making * Business partnering with the data and analytics, revenue assurance and technology team in the development of accurate and robust data * Work with the wholesale commercial and group teams in the validation and sign-off of commercial invoices / revenue and take the lead from a data perspective External Data and Insight* Using data from FDM (Market Pricing and Market share data) to understand performance relative to the market size* Utilisation of the BI-Annual Econometrics data to understand the financial impact of Media and Marketing investment * Provide insight on the financials of competitors to provide a outside perspective You will be a part of relatively newly qualified accountant, ideally with prior experience of working within a commercial finance team and more recently have demonstrable experience developing and delivering high-quality reporting to drive strategic or operational decision making within a large commercial organisation. It is essential to have experience of effectively managing BI development projects, have excellent Excel and SQL (ability to retrieve data from various SQL databases as well as write basic code) knowledge and have a commercial mindset. In addition to this having previously driven the development of new scorecard reporting and an ability to challenge at all levels therefore having a genuine input into the key decision making will be of paramount importance to carry this role out successfully.
