To help support the growth of this team, we are delighted to be working with Barnet Council in their search for five Finance Managers across a variety of areas.
A dedicated Treasury and Pensions Finance Manager opportunity has arisen on a permanent basis to support the Chief Accountant. The role will play an integral part in managing both the investments and accounting behind it, as well as being the point for all pension activity. As a Finance Manager, you will be expected to be a professional lead within your area of finance, providing expertise and high-quality financial services to senior stakeholders, proactively contributing to the achievement of the finance service’s vision, and contributing towards an innovative, high-performance, and continuous improvement culture.
Your key accountability will cover strategic liaising with external pension stakeholders to stay on top of all activity, managing cash flow is vital as well as forecasting. Your role will include but not be limited to, other responsibilities, including resolving other issues and queries around treasury and pensions.
You will also be responsible for managing, inspiring, and motivating one Assistant Finance Manager. To be successful in this role, you will be fully CCAB qualified with substantial treasury accounting experience within a public sector or not-for-profit organisation. Although experience with pensions is highly desirable, it isn’t essential to the role.
You will have strong analytical skills and have a proactive approach to tasks and be willing to get involved in wider activities.
