Finance Manager, International Controls
  • Rate: £400.00 - £450.00 per day, inside IR35, umbrella
  • Location: Central London (Hybrid - 3 days in office, 2 days WFH)
  • Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday
  • Duration: 6 months

We are seeking a Finance Manager, International Controls to join our media team based in London. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity and control of financial systems and processes within our Finance division.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Manage and develop a team of financial specialists.
  • Support risk management for the News Division, including liaising with the Group Financial Control team.
  • Deputise for the Senior International Finance Business Partner as required, including attending Audit, Risk, and Divisional oversight meetings.
  • Manage International Financial Control risks and issues, including escalation of major issues.
  • Liaise with UK and International Auditors as required.
  • Conduct regular/quarterly remote oversight meetings with International bureaux, including reviewing test sample evidence for the operation of Financial Controls.
  • Manage a programme of international site visits to review the operation of Financial Controls in the international bureaux and work through an audit/oversight programme while onsite, issuing an audit/oversight report at the end of the visit.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including reviewing the design and effectiveness of controls with recommendations for improvements.
  • Lead Financial Control activities for setting up new bureaux & converting bureaux from Rep Office or branch to Limited company.
  • Approve updates to International Operations Finance Handbook and changes to International Financial Control Delegated Authorities list.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Significant experience in operating and reviewing Financial Controls.
  • Previous audit or financial governance & oversight experience.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles and processes.
  • Demonstrable people management and team leadership experience.
  • Strong experience in international finance management, ideally in media, broadcast, or similar industries.
