Global fast moving consumer goods company in Southwest London are recruiting a part qualified or qualified by experience Finance Manager to support the Head of Finance on a 6-month fixed term contract. The company are a highly established, financially stable and a growing entity that owns many well-known brands sold in the United Kingdom and Europe.

Ideally you will have strong month end close experience, month-end reporting, VAT returns and have experience assisting with audits.

Responsibilities of the Finance Manager:

  • To provide timely and accurate financial support to the Head of Finance.
  • To ensure that accounting records are maintained accurately and in timely fashion.
  • Month-end reporting including P&L and BS.
  • To support and learn from the Head of Finance and to provide commercial and strategic input into business direction and development.
  • Complete operational and compliance tasks with accuracy and punctuality e.g. VAT, Plastic Tax and Corporation Tax. Corporation Tax management is supported by an external consultant.
  • Prepare detailed and reconciled management accounting schedules for each reporting cycle encompassing both P&L and Balance Sheet.
  • Prepare schedules for auditors at year end to ensure a successful audit.
  • Oversee cash flow and currency within group parameters.
  • Manage receivables maximizing cash flow and minimizing bad debt.
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with the 2 other accounting roles within the team.
  • Work effectively with Group colleagues as necessary.
  • Be a key user of the ERP system maintaining functionality and being a source of assistance to other users.
  • Be the guardian of finance processes and controls ensuring a robust and relevant control environment and appropriate documentation.

Skills and experience of the Finance Manager:

  • Part qualified ACCA / CIMA /ACA or qualified AAT.
  • ERP System experience.
  • MS Excel (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUPs and formulas).
  • Ideally have a minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role.
  • Confident verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good team working skills and a positive, pro-active attitude.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and organise own workload with established timescale.
