The Role
As Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the finance function. You’ll lead process improvements, drive automation, and strengthen financial controls, ensuring the business operates with agility and precision. This is a high-impact role with visibility across senior leadership and central services, offering the opportunity to influence how finance supports the wider organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Improvement
- Redesign and optimise core finance processes (e.g., project cost tracking, supplier payments, month-end close).
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean principles and industry best practices.
- Automation & Systems
- Identify and implement automation opportunities across reporting tools and Excel-based workflows.
- Configure dashboards, macros, and liaise with IT and vendors on system upgrades and integrations.
- Financial Controls
- Develop and enforce robust internal control frameworks.
- Monitor compliance, conduct control testing, and lead remediation efforts.
- Reporting & Analysis
- Produce insightful management reports on project profitability, cash flow, and variance analysis.
- Provide strategic advice to leadership on cost drivers, bottlenecks, and control gaps.
- Collaboration & Leadership
- Partner with Finance, IT, HR, and other central services to align on data integrity, system enhancements, and process standardisation.
- Act as a connector between teams to ensure financial planning and forecasting support better decision-making.
Profile:
- We’re looking for a proactive and commercially astute finance professional who is ready to step into a leadership role:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with ideally 3+ years post-qualification experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI, with the ability to present clear financial narratives.
- Strong background in management accounts, KPI reporting, and financial control.
- Detail-oriented, emotionally intelligent, and collaborative.
- Ambitious and ready to grow into a future Financial Controller.
