An historic, renowned UK charity that advocated for some of society's most vulnerable people is in need of an interim Head of Finance to replace the outgoing permanent incumbent, in a twelve-month, fixed-term contract role that could well go permanent. A hybrid role, based in the Stratford office two days per week, it will report into the CFO all areas of finance including FP&A, Finance Commercial Finance and Financial Accounts & Controls. It will also lead on certain aspects of an organisation-wide transformation programme. - Managing a finance team of six direct reports and six indirect reports including through a restructure
- Reviewing the budgets set by Commercial Finance and working on long-term financial planning
- Taking a lead on year-end duties and acting as a main point of contact for auditors
- Reviewing systems and processes, continuously pushing for improvements and stronger reporting
- Reviewing the structure of the finance team and making suggestions as to a new structure
- Working on board papers alongside the CFO
- Business-partnering members of the executive team
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a senior, experienced charity finance professional
- Be a qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
- Be available at short notice
- Be a sensitive, resilient individual who can guide the team through a challenging period
- Have a keen interest in contributing towards an important social purpose
