Our client, a leading organisation in the Banking and Financial Services sector, is seeking a Senior Project Manager.This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced project management professional to lead complex initiatives within Capital Markets and Banking, delivering impactful results while collaborating with diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership & Execution: Lead project teams through all phases-initiation, execution, and implementation. Build and maintain effective relationships with business units, product teams, operations, and IT partners to ensure streamlined processes.

2. Stakeholder Engagement: Identify and engage key stakeholders, management, and partners throughout the project lifecycle. Define roles and responsibilities, ensuring clarity and accountability within the virtual team.

3. Documentation & organisation: Prepare comprehensive documentation to support project goals, ensuring stakeholder agreement and justifying expenditures. Maintain organised records for easy reference and tracking.

4. Communication & Coordination: Facilitate project execution through clear communication and standardised documentation.- Design and manage project plans with defined timelines.- Track decisions, actions, risks, and issues, collaborating with relevant partners for resolution.- Provide regular status updates to stakeholders, ensuring everyone is informed and engaged.

5. Risk Management: Ensure adherence to organisational methodologies and standards, particularly regarding risk management. Proactively escalate risks or issues to management and the virtual team.

6. Budget Management: Maintain accurate budget forecasts and track actual spending, utilising in-house project tools to uphold financial discipline.

Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in project and programme management within financial services, specifically in Capital Markets and Banking.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines and limited resources.
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build credibility and foster strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly adaptable and flexible in response to changing project needs.
  • PMI Certifications (PMP, PfMP, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2) are highly recommended, but not mandatory.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and Scrum practises is a plus.
