Long Term Futures is looking for a confident and reliable Behaviour Mentor to support two pupils in Year 6 at a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Hammersmith & Fulham. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who can bring positivity, structure, and energy to the classroom - ideal for those who enjoy helping children build confidence, resilience, and independence.

You'll be supporting two pupils with different needs: one with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges who benefits from consistency and emotional support, and another with Dyslexia, who requires encouragement and help accessing the curriculum.

About the Role

Working under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCo, your day-to-day will include:

  • Providing calm, consistent 1:1 support to help pupils manage their emotions and focus on learning.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, engagement, and motivation through praise and structure.
  • Supporting the pupil with Dyslexia through practical learning strategies and literacy tasks.
  • Promoting teamwork, resilience, and positive peer relationships within the Year 6 class.
  • Acting as a positive role model and trusted adult who pupils can rely on.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Confident, patient, and able to build rapport quickly with pupils.
  • Experience supporting children with behavioural or emotional needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and organisation skills.
  • Calm under pressure, with a positive and solution-focused mindset.
  • Ideal for male candidates seeking to act as a positive role model for older pupils.
