Are you a dedicated and compassionate individual with experience supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Remedy Education is currently recruiting for a Behaviour Mentor to join a forward-thinking and inclusive school in the London Borough of Havering from September 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support, helping them to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students on a one-to-one or small group basis with SEMH needs and behavioural challenges.

  • Help implement and monitor Individual Behaviour Plans (IBPs).

  • Foster a calm, nurturing learning environment that promotes emotional regulation and academic engagement.

  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, the SENCO, and wider pastoral team.

  • Use restorative and trauma-informed approaches to manage behaviour effectively.

  • Encourage personal growth, resilience, and a positive mindset in pupils.

Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with SEMH or challenging behaviour is essential.

  • Ability to build strong relationships and maintain boundaries with pupils.

  • A calm, confident, and resilient approach to managing behaviour.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).

  • School-based or youth work experience is desirable.
