Salary: £43,299 - £46,512 per annum, inclusive (Grade 10)

Located in the heart of West London, the council comprises seven distinct town centres - Ealing, Southall, Hanwell, Acton, Northolt, Perivale and Greenford. Each of these areas has unique characteristics, and together they form one of the most vibrant and diverse communities in Britain. Ealing also has a strong economic centre with more than 130,000 businesses, of which nearly 3,000 are food businesses.

The Role

Projects Delivery Unit is seeking an experienced and energetic Clerk of Works to work alongside its team of professionals to support the Council’s development portfolio.

The successful applicant will be based in Perceval House and working around the borough of Ealing and will need to be highly self-motivated and possessing a firm attention to detail.

This is a full-time and permanent post, substantively field based and with a minimum requirement of 2 days per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out inspections, checking and supervisory duties for a wide range of new build and building maintenance refurbishment projects, on local authority buildings.
  • Providing timely reports and advice and keeping accurate records, prioritised for the rectification of building defects identified across a multi-project portfolio.
  • Act as an ambassador for the Council’s Economy and Sustainability directorate, championing best practice.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree qualified or equivalent through career demonstrable experience.
  • MICWCI status of the Institute of Clerk Of Works and Construction Inspectorate or equivalent.
  • Substantial Qualified experience post achieving MICWCI status.
  • Be an effective communicator and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be adaptable and have a flexible working style with ability to pick up and independently work through a range of different tasks across a number of projects.
  • Have experience in working on medium and major construction projects of varied build types.
  • Be up to date with the latest Building Regulations and construction practices.
