Cover Coordinator - leading independent school - West London

Job Title: Cover Coordinator
Location: West London
Contract Type: Full-time or term-time only, permanent

We're seeking a dedicated Cover specialist to join the team at one of London's and the UK's leading independent schools.

The Cover Coordinator will lead the school's internal cover function ensuring a smooth day-to-day operation of teaching and support staff cover. All cover is provided internally so there are no external agencies to manage. This varied and rewarding role would suit someone with excellent organisational skills, strong communication abilities, and the initiative to manage multiple priorities calmly and efficiently. Alongside coordinating Cover, there are associated HR duties to record and track absences.

Responsibilities of the Cover Coordinator include:

  • Arranging lesson cover for planned and unplanned absences

  • Managing staff absence records and correspondence

  • Supporting HR functions including recruitment, induction, and personnel file maintenance

  • Liaising with staff and external contacts with professionalism and discretion

  • Maintaining accurate records and supporting HR compliance

Requirements:

  • Strong IT skills and familiarity with school management systems

  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills

  • Ability to manage competing deadlines and work independently

  • GCSEs (grades A-C) in English and Maths; educated to A-Level standard

The Cover Coordinatorwill be contracted for full-time hours, working Monday to Friday 7.30am-4.00pm and 8.00am-4.00pm during school holidays. There is also the option for term-time only plus four weeks (39 weeks in total)
