Our clients, a leading professional body, are recruiting for a new role based in their Policy and Standards team. This role would suit a graduate, or equivalent, who has extensive experience of External Affairs, ideally gained within a professional body, government department or not for profit organisation. Previous experience of working in External and Public Affairs, research, policy and committees or similar is essential.

The purpose of the role is to support the Policy and Public Affairs work on key External Affairs activity by developing and promoting Policies and Standards.

The role will include:

  • being the subject matter expert on key External Affairs, particularly of societal interest, ethics etc
  • plan and support committee and working group meetings
  • produce agenda, papers, reports, minutes - brief Chairs and Members
  • represent the organisation at meetings and events related to External Affairs
  • provide briefings, support and guidance to relevant stakeholders
  • provide admin and logistical support for meetings, seminars, events etc
  • coordinate periodic reviews of key documents
  • update and improve processes
  • manage SharePoint and website
  • deal with enquiries

Previous experience should include:

  • extensive External Affairs experience gained within a professional/not for profit organisation
  • experience of working with professional accreditation
  • experience of working with policy, public and external affairs, research, committees
  • ability to work on own initiative
  • experience of preparing papers and minutes
  • experience of working with committees
