Freelance Faade Designer
Location: Kensington, London (Hybrid)
Day Rate: £200 - £250 per day (depending on experience)
About the Role
An eixcting opportunity for a skilled and detail-focused Freelance Faade Designer to join a prestigious company on a contract basis. Based primarily at their south London office with some flexibility for site visits and remote work, this role offers the opportunity to work on a range of exciting projects across London. You'll bring solid technical knowledge of faade systems, a collaborative approach, and strong design capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Design and detail faade systems including curtain walling, cladding, glazing, and rainscreen systems.
Produce accurate 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD; Revit proficiency is a bonus.
Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure design integrity and technical compliance.
Conduct site visits and attend project meetings as required.
Support the preparation of technical documentation across all project stages.
Coordinate faade design with structural and architectural teams.
Requirements for Facade Desginer
Demonstrable experience in faade design, especially with curtain walling, cladding, glazing, and rainscreen systems.
Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Revit or similar design tools is advantageous.
Background working with faade contractors, sub-contractors, or specialist consultancies.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple design tasks simultaneously.
Stonework detailing experience is beneficial but not essential.
Comfortable working independently while remaining integrated with a project team.
