Job Advert: Head of Asset Management
Location: London Area (hybrid)
Rate: 450-500/d Umbrella
Contract Type: 6 months
Are you a strategic contracts leader with a passion for delivering value and driving performance in asset management? A dynamic and forward-thinking organisation in the housing and property sector is seeking a highly capable Head of Asset Management to oversee and drive excellence across a portfolio of contracts valued at 17m per annum.
This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for ensuring high-quality, cost-effective services across a wide range of property and maintenance-related contracts.
The Role
You will lead the contracts function within the Asset Management department with responsibilities including:
Manage the full lifecycle of contracts, from procurement through to performance management.
Drive long-term strategic planning for asset management and capital investment programmes.
Oversee internal and external supplier relationships, including acting as client manager for a Direct Labour Organisation (DLO).
Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including the Procurement Act 2024.
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery.
Lead a team of professionals including surveyors and administrators.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
Extensive experience in contract management, procurement, and supplier performance, ideally within the housing or property sector.
Strong financial acumen, with a track record of managing budgets and delivering value for money.
Proven ability to develop and implement strategies and manage risk effectively.
A professional qualification in contract management, procurement (e.g. CIPS), or finance.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Desirable but not essential:
Membership of RICS or CIOB.
Direct experience with DLO performance management.
Knowledge of Schedule of Rates (SORs) and housing stock asset data.
