This Head of Credit role offers an attractive salary ranging from 100,000 to 130,000 per year depending on your level of experience. You'll have the chance to work closely with the senior management team and influence business strategy.

As the Head of Credit, you will:
  • Steer and mentor a team of underwriters to ensure high performance.
  • Assess complex bridging and development loan applications.
  • Maintain and improve underwriting processes in line with industry best practices.
  • Act as the final sign-off for high-value or complex deals, challenging where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align underwriting strategy with business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal credit risk guidelines.
  • Liaise with brokers, valuers, solicitors, and internal teams.
  • Oversee credit paper preparation and present at credit committees.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform strategies.

To excel as the Head of Credit, you should have:
  • Extensive experience in bridging and / or development finance underwriting, with experience in a senior or leadership role.
  • Excellent knowledge of the UK property market, lending structures, and risk management.
  • Understanding of conveyancing law and ability to interpret planning and financial statements.
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
  • Proactive leadership qualities with the ability to manage a team managing many / complex cases.
  • Enjoy working in a boutique or SME environment.
  • Solid commercial awareness and sound judgement.
