Our client is looking for an accomplished Head of Executive Reward to lead the design, implementation and governance of reward strategies for senior leaders and the executive team. Amongst other things, this critical role will ensure alignment with shareholder expectations, regulatory compliance and the company's long-term strategic objectives.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Executive remuneration strategy:
    • Develop and implement market-leading reward strategies to attract, retain, and motivate top executive talent while aligning with company performance and shareholder value.
    • Ensure a strong link between pay and performance, with a focus on delivering long-term sustainable results.
  • Incentive Plans:
    • Lead the design, implementation and administration of our company wide group incentive schemes, including the short-term global bonus plan and the long-term incentive plans.
    • Lead the design, implementation and administration of our company wide all-employee share schemes.
    • Review performance metrics and ensure alignment with company strategy and regulatory frameworks.
  • Governance and Compliance:
    • Act as a key liaison with the Remuneration Committee, preparing papers and making recommendations.
    • Prepare the annual Directors Remuneration Report, including liaison with key stakeholders such as the external auditors.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant UK regulations.
    • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends, legislation, and corporate governance best practices.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Partner with the Board, Remuneration Committee, senior leaders, and external advisers to develop and deliver an effective executive reward strategy.
    • Manage relationships with external advisers and proxy agencies to address shareholder and governance concerns.
  • Market Benchmarking:
    • Conduct market analyses and benchmarking against industry peers to ensure competitiveness and alignment with market trends.
    • Maintain awareness of global reward trends and their implications for the business.
  • Communication:
    • Develop clear and transparent communication materials to articulate the executive reward structure to internal and external stakeholders, including shareholders and proxy agencies.
  • Leadership and Team Development:
    • Lead and develop the reward function, fostering a high-performing team culture.
    • Act as a trusted adviser to senior leadership on all reward-related matter

You'll have proven experience in executive reward within a listed company or a professional advisory firm.

This should include:

  • Deep knowledge of UK executive reward regulations, governance, and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate complex data.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at Board and executive level.
  • Track record of successfully managing relationships with Remuneration Committees and external advisers.
  • Highly strategic and commercial mindset, with a focus on delivering business outcomes.
