Reed Education is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Science starting from September 2025. We are looking for an energetic, resilient, and passionate leader who is committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning. This role is ideal for someone who can think strategically and creatively, and who acts as a positive role model for both students and staff.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Lead the Science department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning are maintained.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the department to achieve excellent student outcomes.
- Inspire and motivate students and staff to excel in Science.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of staff and students in the department.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment within the department.
- Collaborate with other department heads and senior management to enhance overall school performance.
- Engage with the latest educational research to continually improve departmental practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a leadership role within an educational setting, preferably in Science.
- Strong understanding of the current curriculum and teaching methods for Science.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to think strategically and creatively.
- Resilient and energetic with a passion for teaching and learning.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
