About the Business

Our client is a high-growth, FCA-regulated investment platform with a strong international footprint and an expanding UK operation. The business operates in the retail investment space and is committed to maintaining rigorous financial controls and compliance standards.

With the current Finance Director due to leave, they are seeking an experienced Interim FD to ensure continuity and lead the finance function through a period of transition.

The Role

This role is the most senior finance position within the UK business and reports directly into the leadership team. You will work cross-functionally with international colleagues and must be comfortable operating in a lean, hands-on environment. A strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and operational finance is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight of the UK finance function during the interim period

  • Lead the Financial Operations team, overseeing customer onboarding, deposits, withdrawals, and internal fund flows

  • Drive process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce cost

  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to enhance automation and workflow tools

  • Identify and mitigate operational risks, particularly in transaction handling

  • Manage relationships with banks, payment providers, and other third-party financial partners

  • Lead the CASS team and potentially act as the CASS Oversight Officer with the FCA

  • Ensure timely and accurate client money and asset reconciliations; submit monthly CMAR reports

  • Oversee data and business intelligence reporting through the Data & BI Manager

  • Prepare and present financial insights to senior stakeholders and regulatory bodies

  • Maintain group reporting alignment with international finance teams

  • Strengthen financial controls and enhance forecasting and planning capabilities

Candidate Profile
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

  • Significant experience in FCA-regulated environments, ideally within investment, fintech, or payments sectors

  • Strong technical understanding of CASS, CMAR, and other relevant regulatory obligations

  • Proven leadership of lean finance teams in dynamic or high-growth businesses

  • Hands-on operational finance expertise with a commercial and strategic mindset

  • Ability to navigate a fast-paced, entrepreneurial culture with professionalism and resilience

  • London-based or able to attend the office regularly as part of a hybrid arrangement
