This role will be overseeing the underwriting operations, improving efficiency and maintaining a high standard of service from a London Market perspective. You will also be responsible for improving administration systems, reporting tools and much more.
The Role:
- This position requires a candidate with experience in an MGA environment and in Lloyd's, with a strong background in underwriting operations.
- Oversee underwriting operations, improving efficiency and maintaining a high standard of service.
- Stay updated with London Market trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements to ensure the business remains competitive.
- Develop and provide monthly and quarterly metrics packs on KPI's on operational performance and progress, including ad hoc MI reports to the business
- Generate and analyze reports on underwriting performance, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Responsible for operational change management, defining new business processes and ensuring business readiness leading to the successful implementation of new products, processes and IT solutions.
- Lead capacity meetings and participate in business strategy discussions to align underwriting goals with company growth.
- Work closely with the relevant teams to maintain and improve underwriting platforms, policy administration systems, and reporting tools.
- Establish opportunities for automation within existing and new business processes.
- Identify inefficiencies in workflows and lead initiatives to enhance productivity, automation, and service delivery.
What is Required?
- A strong background in managing MGA operations (specialty market experience preferred) and 5+ years of experience operating in the London market across multiple lines of business
- Deep understanding of underwriting operations and capacity management; claims processes, and financial controls.
- Experience in product development and process improvement within the underwriting space.
- In-depth knowledge of the insurance regulations, best practices, and market trends.
- Solid understanding of the Bordereaux (BDX) lifecycle, including exception management, mapping, and cash allocation processes.
- Efficient time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to support and guide a small team.
- Previous involvement in change management or digital transformation projects.
- Proficiency in underwriting software (Advantage Go Navigator or Subscribe) and data analytics tools.
