Major Food Group is hiring an experienced General Manager to join our team at Carbone London located inside the Chancery Rosewood Hotel!

We are seeking a passionate, driven hospitality leader to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience leading a team and managing the daily operation of the business. They will be responsible for maintaining the standard of work from employees as well as onboarding and hiring new team members.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible and accountable for all restaurant activities and assumes complete responsibility for the restaurant as necessary
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant including sales, fiscal operations, accounting, recruitment, and maintenance of the building and equipment
  • Directly support service operations as needed.
  • Build and manage a team of FOH and BOH team members
  • Implement, oversee, and maintain all company policies and procedures
  • Create a positive company culture of a commitment to excellence
  • Perform forecasting and budgeting for all controllable costs
  • Provide continuous education and self-development will be of highest priorities along with a commitment to coaching and developing the entire management team and staff
  • Maintain standards according to DOH, fire safety, and employment regulationsCoordinate daily restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Ensure that all guests are greeted warmly, seated promptly, and provided with menus and utensils.
  • Oversee the reservation system, confirming bookings, managing waitlists, and accommodating special requests.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the dining area, including tables, chairs, floors, and fixtures.
  • Mentor, and motivate staff to deliver outstanding customer service and uphold brand standards.
  • Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally, striving to resolve issues to the satisfaction of the guest.
  • Implement and enforce company policies and procedures regarding employee conduct, safety, and sanitation.
  • Assist with special events
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and licensing requirements.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed to meet the demands of the business.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 5 years in a senior management role in the Restaurant/Hospitality Industry, preferably as a General Manager
  • Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field preferred
  • Fine dining experience preferred
  • Previous experience performing new restaurant opening responsibilities such as training and motivating new employees into a high-performing team and implementing new systems, policies, and procedures strongly preferred
  • Proven team player willing to roll up your sleeves - a good leader should be willing and able to do whatever he or she asks of their team
  • Must possess effective communication skills for dealing with staff
  • Must exemplify the highest standards in honesty, integrity, humility and leadership
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work standing and walking for extended periods of time
