Since St. JOHN Restaurant opened in Smithfield in 1994, Fergus Henderson and Trevor Gulliver have grown their unique and eclectic portfolio which now include: the Michelin starred St. JOHN Smithfield, St. JOHN Bread & Wine and St. JOHN Marylebone in 2022. These sit alongside their wholesale St. JOHN Bakery and retail stores, not forgetting HG Wine (their independent wine business).
What we are looking for in a General Manager
- The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive background in restaurant management, with extensive experience of working in high endrestaurants.
- We are looking for someone who brings a relaxed, informal and engaging service style, who is happy to chat with customers enthusing over the days menu and sharing their genuine passion for all things food and wine.
- They will be able to develop and deliver a unique understanding of our core culture and values of purpose & simplicity and nose to tail eating.
- The role reports directly to the Directorof Restaurants.
- Experience as a General Manager in high end, fast paced,high-volume sites.
- A strong passion for delivering excellentfood and customer service with the abilitytoinspire others with their energy.
- Good leadership, engagement and people management skills.
- An open, engaging and friendly personality with the confidence to lead the St. JOHN philosophy and brand image with yourteam and guests.
- Commercially savvy with a proven track record of successfully managing P&L to drive revenue & sales plus budget management experience.
- Proven experience in training and successfully developing &inspiring talent across all levels of the team.
- Excellent attention to detail, calm under pressure and resilient.
- Able to work as part of the wider St. JOHN management team and withtheir own initiative.
