Operational General Manager

Please note, this role goes beyond a General Manager only roll. Please read the job description in full for further detail.

Polygon Public House Ltd
- established in 2017 when we acquired The Rose and Crown
- extensively refurbished and re-opened as a gastro pub in 2021
- opened our sister pub The Ox in October 2024
- have acquired a third site in Islington, which will open as a restaurant with guest rooms in 2026

Due to having 2 sites in close proximity to each other, you will be expected to perform above a General Manager only roll. Assisting both sites with arranging maintenance call outs when necessary and any other day to day issues which may arise.

Your schedule:

Monday- Office Day - full office day where you will complete reports for the previous week, complete ordering, staff rota for the following week and organise any issues that need addressing. Full site walk around needed on Mondays to raise any issues.
Tuesday - OFF
Wednesday - OFF
Thursday - Office and service. Afternoon will be spent completing any outstanding tasks, then evening will be dedicated to service
Friday - Service
Saturday - Service
Sunday - Service

Essential Skills and Experience

IT Proficiency: Fully competent in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. You will be required to complete Monday reports in excel format.

Leadership & Teamwork:Ability to inspire, motivate, and manage a team effectively, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. For example, daily task sheets of essential tasks - it is your responsibility to monitor to uphold discipline of the team completing said tasks.

Customer Focus:A passion for providing luxury service and a deep understanding of guest expectations

Attention to Detail:Meticulous approach to every aspect of service to maintain our standards

Communication:Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with guests, staff, and senior management.

Problem-Solving:Strong ability to resolve conflicts and address guest issues quickly and effectively.

Organisational Skills: Highly organisedand detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and complex operations.

Financial Acumen:Ability to monitor costs, manage budgets, and contribute to revenue generation.
