About the Role

We are recruiting an experienced ASD Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Key Stage 2 in a mainstream primary school in Haringey. You will work with children in Years 3 to 6 who present behavioural needs and emotional dysregulation. Your day will blend one-to-one and small-group support, consistent routines and clear visuals such as Now and Next boards, social stories and the Zones of Regulation. You will implement de-escalation strategies, follow personalised behaviour plans and contribute to target tracking and reviews with the class teacher and the SENCo.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience supporting autistic pupils in Key Stage 2

  • Confident with behaviour support and de-escalation, and able to manage dysregulation safely

  • Knowledge of PECS, Makaton or TEACCH is welcomed

  • Team Teach or other positive handling training is advantageous but not essential

  • A calm, consistent and reflective practitioner who builds strong relationships quickly
