  • Delivering engaging and high-quality lessons in A Level History to students of varying abilities
  • Planning and preparing lessons and schemes of work in line with the curriculum and departmental guidelines
  • Monitoring, assessing, and supporting student progress through effective feedback and target setting
  • Being responsible for the academic achievement, behaviour, and well-being of the students you teach under the guidance of the Head of Department
  • Utilizing departmental and college-wide resources, including library and digital tools, to enhance student learning
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and success
  • Contributing to the department's development through collaboration, sharing best practices, and updating resources

Skills & Experience

  • Right to Work in the UK & Enhanced Adult/Child DBS dated within the last 3 months or registered on the update service
  • A UK-recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE, DTLLS, Cert Ed, or equivalent is essential
  • A Bachelor's degree in History or a closely related field
  • Sound knowledge of A Level History specifications and assessment frameworks
  • Experience teaching History at A Level or an equivalent post-16 level
  • Up to date with the latest subject content, teaching strategies, and pedagogical approaches
