Psychology/Sociology Teacher

A thoughtful and engaging Psychology/Sociology Teacher is required for a permanent part-time position at a well-regarded Independent mixed school in Haringey, commencing in September. Responsibilities

• You'll plan and deliver engaging Psychology and/or Sociology lessons, fostering critical thinking about human behaviour, social processes, and research methodologies.
• The role involves exploring diverse theories and concepts, encouraging students to question, analyse, and understand the world around them.
• You'll cultivate a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment where students feel empowered to discuss complex ideas and develop their analytical and argumentative skills.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in Psychology or Sociology is essential.
• Experience teaching engaging and effective Psychology and/or Sociology lessons at Key Stage 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5) is highly desirable.
• A deep and current understanding of the respective fields, coupled with the ability to make the subjects relevant and thought-provoking, is expected.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, alongside strong classroom management and the ability to facilitate engaging discussions, are vital.
