We are working with a nurturing, inclusive, and forward-thinking SEMH school based in the heart of Greenwich, supporting children and young people across both primary and secondary phases.

The pupils have a range of complex needs, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and ODD.

The Role

We are looking to appoint compassionate, resilient, and proactive SEMH Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated team. You will play a vital role in supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them access learning, manage their emotions, and build self-confidence.



Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and ODD

  • Foster trusting relationships and act as a positive role model

  • Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to implement EHCP strategies

  • Assist in the development of social skills, emotional regulation, and learning progress

  • Contribute to a calm, therapeutic classroom environment

  • Support pupils during transitions, break times, and off-site activities (where applicable)

  • Maintain accurate records of behaviour, progress, and incidents



What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs (preferred but not essential)

  • A calm, empathetic, and consistent approach

  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • A genuine passion for making a positive difference in children's lives



Desirable (but not essential):

  • Team Teach, or positive handling training

  • Knowledge of trauma-informed or restorative practice

  • Prior experience in SEMH or specialist school settings

  • Education-based qualification or psychology/mental health background
