People Services Assistant, Arts and Education Institution, temporary role, c.3 months initially, £16.50-£17.90 per hour plus holiday accrual

Leading centre in the Arts and Education world, needs a proactive and approachable Human Resources temp with a great eye for detail to help them cover a busy period. This is a hybrid working role - 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home, to start asap.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Act as first point of contact, helping with enquiries and offering customer service to your colleagues
  • Support 3 People Partners in their delivery of the People Strategy
  • Help to promote the organisation as an employer of choice - social media etc
  • Help co-ordinate the hiring process, liaising with hiring managers to finalise and launch job adverts, job descriptions and person specifications
  • Monitor progress of vacancies and track costs against budgets
  • Conduct pre-employment checks - Right to Work in the UK, references and DBS checks
  • Ensure accurate and timely issuing of offer letters, contracts, new starter information, and reference requests
  • Support the administration for the UK Visa sponsorship system for new recruits and ensure expiry dates for all employees on time-limited visa are in the system
  • Undertake monthly payroll check process in liaison with the external payroll provider
  • Support the delivery of Staff Surveys
  • Support the launch of performance review processes
  • Support the co-ordination of learning and development activity across the organisation
  • Assist with keeping employee data up to date on iTrent

Experience

  • Experience of working in a busy People / HR Operations environment
  • CIPD Level 3 or equivalent work experience
  • Customer Service focused with first class Admin skills
  • Knowledge of HR systems - iTrent preferred
  • Experience of embedding principles of equality and diversity within working processes
  • Processing visa and right to work procedures
  • Education, Museums, Galleries or Charities experience preferred
  • Sharepoint, Office365
