MLC Partners are working with an NHS organisation who are looking to recruit an Interim HR Project Manager, to lead a team who are focussed on resolving long term sickness absence.
The Interim HR Project Manager will lead a strategic initiative focused on the effective management of long-term sickness absence across the Trust. This is a specific team who have been brought in to drive down sickness rates.
About the Role
As the HR Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading a dedicated team managing long-term sickness absence cases. You will drive improvements, ensure consistency and compliance, and work closely with stakeholders to deliver sustainable outcomes.
This is a key role that requires someone who is both strategic and operational, with a hands-on approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team responsible for long-term sickness absence case management.
- Develop and implement project plans aligned with organisational goals and timelines
- Work collaboratively with HR Business Partners, Occupational Health, and operational managers to support case resolution
- Monitor progress, analyse data, and produce regular reports for senior leadership
- Ensure project compliance with employment law and NHS policies and procedures
- Identify opportunities for improvement and propose effective, long-term solutions
About You
- Substantial experience of managing HR teams and leading projects.
- Strong understanding of long-term sickness absence management within the NHS
- Previous experience within the NHS
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Able to deliver results in a fast-paced, complex environment.
