1st Line Systems Engineer - London-Based MSP (Financial Sector Support)

Are you ready to kick-start your IT career in a fast-paced, client-facing environment? A London-based Managed Service Provider (MSP) is looking for a motivated 1st Line Systems Engineer to support its prestigious financial services clients.

You'll be the first point of contact for users ranging from traders to executives, delivering high-quality technical support while learning from some of the best in the industry.

The Role
  • Provide 1st line technical support via phone, email, and remote tools.

  • Troubleshoot desktop, server, and application issues in a professional and efficient manner.

  • Carry out operational checks and support incident resolution processes.

  • Log and escalate incidents to third-party providers and internal teams when necessary.

  • Participate in occasional out-of-hours and on-call support (with enhanced pay).

About You
  • A clear communicator who's confident dealing with high-level professionals.

  • Passionate about technology and committed to developing your technical skills.

  • Organised, analytical, and detail-oriented.

  • Comfortable following structured processes, but also able to think independently.

Essential Skills
  • Strong understanding of Windows desktop and server operating systems (7/10, 2008-2016).

  • Working knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange (2010-2016), and Citrix XenDesktop.

  • Basic networking knowledge (Cisco CCENT level or similar).

  • Awareness of IT security and ITIL frameworks.

Desirable Experience
  • Office 365, VMware, PowerShell, SQL (basic), HP server hardware.

  • VOIP (Cisco), storage systems, backup/tape management.

  • Exposure to ISO 27001 and service management best practices.
