Robert Half Technology are assisting a prestigious market leading financial services organisation to recruit a Application Support Engineer on a contract basis - London based - start ASAP

Role

  • The Application Support Engineer will provide front-line user support for the OMS platform, with a focus on Longview by Linedata, addressing issues related to trade entry, execution workflows, compliance checks, and data reconciliation.
  • Investigate and resolve production issues across the trade lifecycle, including front office, compliance, and operations teams.
  • Write and optimise complex SQL queries and stored procedures to support data validation, issue investigation, and reporting.
  • Monitor OMS-related processes and interfaces to ensure data integrity and timely processing.
  • Liaise with external vendors (e.g., Linedata) as needed to escalate and track system-related incidents.
  • Produce and maintain support documentation and deliver effective knowledge transfer to internal teams.
  • Providing training and support to the sales teams on product features, benefits, and positioning.

Profile

  • The Application Support Engineer will have 5+ years in a support-focused engineering or technical role within asset management or financial services.
  • Strong SQL expertise (T-SQL, PL/SQL, or similar) for data analysis and issue troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience supporting Longview OMS (Linedata) is strongly preferred; experience with other OMS platforms will also be considered.
  • Solid understanding of the buy-side trade lifecycle, including order creation, execution, allocation, and post-trade processing.
  • Familiarity with compliance monitoring, trade blotters, and portfolio management processes.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a production support environment, managing priorities across multiple users and teams.
