Position: Technical Service Specialist

Our client is a leading manufacturer in the entertainment technology industry, celebrating 50 years of innovation. Their products, including lights, controls, and rigging systems, are used in some of the world's most renowned concert venues, performance spaces, museums, workspaces, television and movie sets, and arenas. With a global presence, their technology shapes experiences worldwide.

As a Technical Service Specialist in the London office, you will play a crucial role in ensuring cutting-edge products perform at their best. This involves tinkering, troubleshooting, and repairing products to provide exceptional experiences for clients. Your responsibilities will include addressing technical issues, completing and documenting repairs, and providing guidance on software updates and production configurations. Occasional travel to tradeshows and client sites may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle incoming repairs and determine if products can be repaired or need replacement.
  • Complete necessary paperwork for repairs and re-shipments.
  • Provide phone and email technical support for products.
  • Diagnose technical problems accurately and ensure timely repairs.
  • Inform customers of repair progress and complete follow-up documentation.
  • Offer guidance on software upgrades and production configuration of new equipment.
  • Support trade shows, including equipment preparation and booth setup.
  • Manage demo and loaner equipment, including testing, storing, organizing, and dispatching.
  • Report quality and service issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Train internal personnel, external technicians, and customers on proper product repairs.
  • Ensure training workshops are well-prepared and attendees are educated on products.
  • Occasionally provide technical support in the field.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and complete special projects in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Technical degree in Electronics or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in electronic repair preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel occasionally throughout Europe.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of PCB, electronics, and mechanical assembly preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading prints and schematics preferred.
  • Manual dexterity and good soldering skills.
  • Familiarity with current wiring regulations.
  • Competency in using hand tools, small power tools, and test equipment.
  • Computer skills (Outlook, Internet, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg.
