Barrier Coating Chemist

Location: London (Hybrid)

Full Time | Permanent

Are you a skilled R&D Chemist with a background in developing barrier coatings? We're working with a rapidly growing manufacturer of sustainable products. If you have a passion for reducing plastics waste and helping the environment with your technical skills.

What You'll Be Doing

The role's primary focus will be on researching and developing barrier coatings for the client's paper-based products. Conduct rheology studies, quality checks and material characterisation to optimise formulations for specific purposes. Develop prototype samples and test to ensure compatibility with all regulatory and industrial standards.

What You'll Bring

Essential

  • Educated to a BSc or higher in Chemistry or a related field
  • Previous experience working to develop coatings for paper or paper substrates (Minimum 7 Years)
  • Strong technical ability and an understanding of how to interpret and present complex data.
  • Familiarity with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards in laboratory and industrial settings

Desirable

  • Experience working with biopolymers or biodegradable materials
