A leading national law firm is seeking an experienced Commercial Lawyer to join its highly ranked Technology and Outsourcing practice. The successful candidate will work on complex, high-value technology and commercial transactions for a prestigious client base, including major UK banks, FTSE 100 companies, household-name retailers, global technology companies, fintech innovators, and international payment service providers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support on a broad range of technology, outsourcing, and commercial contract matters, including large-scale digital transformation projects.
  • Negotiate IT and BPO outsourcing arrangements, SaaS/cloud service agreements, licensing deals, and supply chain contracts.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to clients, developing long-term relationships and delivering commercially focused legal solutions.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members, contributing to internal knowledge sharing and training.
  • Support business development activities, thought leadership, and client engagement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer with 3+ years PQE in commercial and technology law.
  • Experience in IT outsourcing, SaaS/cloud agreements, software licensing, or technology infrastructure contracts.
  • Proven ability to manage transactions independently and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to translate complex legal advice into practical business outcomes.
  • (Desirable) Sector experience in financial services, fintech, payments, retail, aviation, or digital health.
  • (Desirable) Understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks, including outsourcing rules, operational resilience, and data protection.
