Service Care Legal are recruiting on behalf of a London Borough Council for an experienced Senior Commercial Property Lawyer to join their legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished lawyer seeking a long-term assignment.ROLE:                  Senior Commercial Property LawyerLOCATION:          London Borough Council (Shared Service – covering 5 boroughs)RATE:                   £50–£55 per hour (Umbrella) / £48.48ph PAYE inc. holiday pay / £43.26ph exc. Holiday payCONTRACT:        Initial 3 months, with strong possibility of extensionKey Requirements
  • A minimum of 18 months continuous experience working within a local authority setting (not a series of short-term placements across multiple councils).
  • Proven ability to handle a broad range of commercial property matters, including asset management (sales, purchases, leases, licences).
  • Strong knowledge of land title matters and relevant legislation governing property transactions.
  • Experience of managing external lawyers, and dealing with complex land issues relating to education and academies (including foundation schools and development work).
  • Demonstrable expertise in large-scale housing stock transfers and estate ballots.
  • Ability to handle lease and licence work across shared services (excluding routine residential matters such as right to buy, lease extensions, and residential management).
