Are you passionate about making a positive impact on young people's lives?Do you have experience working with children or young people in an educational or care setting?A welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Southwark is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join their supportive team immediately. This is a full-time, long-term position running through to the end of the academic year, with the potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students in managing their behaviour and engagement within the school setting

  • Build positive relationships with students, promoting self-esteem and resilience

  • Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to implement tailored behaviour strategies

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support, both in and out of the classroom

  • Act as a role model, demonstrating patience, empathy, and consistency

  • Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour

Requirements:
  • Experience working with children or young people (in education, youth work, or similar)

  • A genuine interest in supporting students with behavioural and emotional needs

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and use a restorative approach

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • A valid Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (essential)

  • Availability to start immediately and commit full-time until July
