Are you passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning?Do you have the skills to inspire, motivate and support students to thrive both academically and personally?

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Learning Mentor to join our vibrant secondary school in Tower Hamlets. You'll play a key pastoral role in supporting students who may be experiencing emotional, behavioural, or social challenges that impact their learning.

The Role:

As a Learning Mentor, you will work one-on-one and in small groups with students to build confidence, improve engagement, and help them develop the skills they need to succeed. You'll be a crucial part of the school's pastoral and inclusion team, working collaboratively with teaching staff, families, and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 mentoring and small group support to identified students

  • Build trusted relationships that promote emotional wellbeing and self-belief

  • Support students in managing behaviour, improving attendance, and developing resilience

  • Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to identify needs and monitor progress

  • Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment

  • Act as a positive role model and advocate for students

What We're Looking For:
  • Experience working with young people in an educational or youth work setting

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills

  • A patient, compassionate and non-judgemental approach

  • Ability to remain calm and supportive under pressure

  • A background in education, youth work, psychology, or social care is desirable
