Teaching and Learning Mentor - Specialist Provision - Islington

Full Time | Term Time Only | October 2025 Start
Up to 115 per day | Long Term Role (Temp to Perm)

Long Term Futures are working with a dynamic and supportive specialist provision in Islington to recruit a Teaching and Learning Mentor to join the team from October 2025.

This all-through setting caters to students with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and complex learning profiles. As a Teaching and Learning Mentor, you will support both the academic and emotional development of students across key stages, helping to remove barriers to learning and build strong routines in the classroom.

You will work closely with class teachers, behaviour leads and therapists to deliver targeted interventions, mentoring sessions and in-class support, all within a structured and nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide academic and behavioural support to students across various subjects
* Mentor individuals and small groups, delivering focused interventions
* Promote engagement, resilience and independent learning
* Support teaching staff with lesson delivery, differentiation and managing behaviour
* Contribute to EHCP reviews and student progress monitoring
* Work collaboratively with SENCo, safeguarding and pastoral teams

Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience supporting students with SEND or SEMH in specialist or mainstream settings
* A calm, structured and student-focused approach
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships
* Confidence supporting a variety of learning styles and communication needs
* A background in education, behaviour support, or inclusion is desirable
