Job Title: Legal AssistantLocation: Hybrid – Paddington Office (2 days/week: Monday + Wed/Thur)Contract Length:11 weeks (with potential for extension)Start Date: ASAPWorking Hours: Standard full-time hoursPay:£13.18 per hourOverview:We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support both the Legal and Company Secretarial teams within a large, fast-paced organisation. This is a short-term role focused heavily on administrative work, and while you’ll gain exposure to legal documents, it’s important to note that this is not a stepping stone into a legal career.This role is ideal for someone with some legal admin experience or a recent law graduate who’s looking for hands-on experience in a corporate legal environment, without expectations of progressing into a paralegal or solicitor track during this placement.Key Responsibilities:
  1. Legal Document Support
  • Review, categorise, and rename legacy legal contracts
  • Ensure file names follow set conventions for better document management
  • Identify key contract elements (type, dates, linkage to other documents)
  • Contribute to a large-scale document ingestion project involving 1000+ contracts
  1. Company Secretariat Support
  • Arrange board meetings by coordinating with Executive Assistants
  • Handle DocuSign signature requests and tracking
  • Update company structure charts and manage board/project folders
  • Support due diligence and auditor requests
  • Assist in preparing and filing financial statements with Companies House
  1. June Project Support
  • Draft and prepare a significant volume of legal documents
  • Travel to Reading (at least once; expenses reimbursed) to support submission to Companies House
  • Complete follow-up administrative tasks once submissions are processed
What We’re Looking For:Essential:
  • Legal admin experience or a recent law graduate (not actively pursuing a legal career short-term)
  • Willing to travel to Reading during the project (expenses reimbursed)
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organised
  • Comfortable with repetitive, document-based tasks
Desirable:
  • Interest in company secretarial work or corporate governance
  • Experience with DocuSign and digital filing systems
Work Environment & Schedule:
  • Hybrid: 2 days per week in the Paddington office (Monday + Wednesday or Thursday)
