Signature Recruitment is working with our client, a London university, to recruit a part-time Library Assistant.

Based fully onsite, you’ll support the library’s front-of-house services three days a week, seven hours per day, helping to deliver a welcoming, accessible environment for all users. From greeting students and staff, answering queries, and assisting with inductions, to ensuring study spaces remain tidy, safe, and well-organised—this is a varied, hands-on role that plays a key part in day-to-day library operations. You’ll be joining a collaborative and friendly team where excellent customer service and attention to detail are valued and supported.

Library Assistant (Part-Time) Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome users at service points and help with queries
  • Keep shelves organised and spaces clean and accessible
  • Assist with scanning, photocopying, and basic admin tasks
  • Support student inductions and user tours
  • Contribute to book moves, inventory, and general upkeep
  • Ensure a high standard of service across the library
Library Assistant (Part-Time):
  • Great communication and a helpful, approachable manner
  • Comfortable lifting boxes and moving books/materials
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Good IT skills (emails, databases, Excel) and fluent spoken English
