Finance & Operations Manager | Food Manufacturing Scaleup | West London

The Client

Harmonic are excited to be partnering with a fast-scaling food start-up that's shaking up the FMCG scene. Backed by proven industry founders and investors with deep expertise in scaling award-winning consumer brands, this business has quickly become a go-to name for top-tier chefs, restaurants, and retailers across the UK.

The company combines heritage techniques with a modern approach to manufacturing, producing beautifully authentic, bold and sustainably sourced food products from their London factory. Following a successful launch in 2023, they're entering an exciting scale-up phase and are now looking to make a foundational hire into the finance and operations team.

The Role

This is a vibrant, entrepreneurial culture where no two days are the same. Reporting directly into the MD, you'll take full ownership of the company's finance function and lead planning and purchasing across the supply chain. You'll be instrumental in developing and embedding financial, operational and system frameworks to enable confident and efficient growth.

You'll work cross-functionally to ensure best-in-class commercial processes, support strategic decision-making, and implement supply chain infrastructure that balances agility with scalability.

This is an ideal role for a hands-on Finance Manager or Finance & Ops professional who thrives in early-stage environments and wants to build, optimise and influence across multiple business areas.

Responsibilities:

Finance

  • Lead the production of monthly management accounts and investor reporting, delivering clear and concise analysis of performance
  • Own budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow models, ensuring they remain dynamic and aligned to growth
  • Oversee credit control and payment cycles to optimise working capital
  • Manage foreign currency exposure, insurance coverage, and payroll processes
  • Implement and maintain financial controls and legal compliance across the business
  • Provide commercial insight and costing analysis to support strategic decisions

Supply Chain & Operations

  • Evaluate and implement systems (ERP, demand planning, KPI dashboards) to support scale
  • Build stock and inventory reporting frameworks, ensuring accuracy and visibility
  • Own raw material and finished goods purchasing, aligned to production and sales forecasts
  • Drive cost optimisation through supply chain efficiencies and performance analysis
  • Provide sales reporting and product margin tracking to support business development
  • Lead the operational interface between finance, production, and commercial teams

What We Need to See (Required):

  • Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG operations
  • Proven ability to produce and present monthly accounts and forecasts
  • Excellent financial modelling and Excel skills
  • Understanding of batch costing, demand planning, and ERP systems
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities

What We'd Like to See (Preferred):

  • Exposure to HR, IT and broader ops functions
  • Strong project management or systems implementation experience
  • Passion for food, culture and sustainability

Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 + 10% bonus + benefits
