About us

Avencia are partnered with a global insurer who are looking to hire a Motor Claims Adjuster in their London office.

The role

To act as a referral point for TPAs for operational, procedural and technical matters as required to deliver the claims service in accordance with the claims handling manual and relevant delegated authority agreements.

To desktop adjust own portfolio of cases notified, from first advice through to settlement within their designated authority, in accordance with the claims handling manual.

Key accountabilities

  • Evaluate claims for coverage and required information.
  • Assess and respond to claims, interpreting policies and coverage.
  • Set reserves to assess exposure.
  • Liaise with stakeholders for claims handling.
  • Attend meetings to support investigations.
  • Advise TPAs on technical matters.
  • Support audits of claims records.
  • Verify MI data accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with internal teams for procedural support.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports for compliance.
  • Input claims data for reporting.
  • Participate in projects to improve processes.
  • Complete tasks as assigned by management.

Skills & experience

  • Motor claims handling experience including own damage, third party damage, personal injury, and credit hire.
  • Ability to handle motor claims with a value of up to £250,000.
  • Motor claims handling experience in commercial motor/fleet matters.
  • Understanding of end-to-end claims procedures, including litigation.
  • Knowledge of using claims systems, including the MOJ Portal and OIC Portal.
  • Knowledge of JC Guidelines for the assessment of general damages in personal injury claims.
  • Good working knowledge of coverage under general motor policies (own damage and third party).
  • Experience in the UK market in motor matters.
  • Good general knowledge and understanding of insurance principles.
  • General awareness of current regulations and market issues.
  • Understanding and good working knowledge of relevant law.
