Engineering Manager (Mobile Full Stack React Native) London / WFH to £100k

Are you a hands-on Engineering Manager / Technical Lead? You could be progressing your career whilst working on a growing 'tech for good' social app that connects bird watchers worldwide and helps record vital data about bird populations across the globe.

As the Engineering Manager you'll head up a small team of Full Stack Developers providing technical leadership and direction, code reviews and 121s whilst also remaining hands-on with coding some of the most complex aspects of the platform. There's a modern technology stack encompassing React Native, TypeScript and Node.js deploying to GCP.

You'll play a key role in a small team of tech entrepreneurs and enthusiasts creating a platform that connects like-minded people; you'll influence the technical direction and grow the team as the company scales.

Location / WFH:

You can work from home most of the time, meeting up with colleagues in the London office once every six weeks for company meetings and updates.

About you:

  • You're a technology enthusiast looking for an opportunity to take ownership and progress your career in a senior, impactful role
  • You have experience with code reviews, mentoring and technical leadership within small, globally distributed teams
  • You have experience of providing technical leadership and direction
  • You have strong software engineering skills, with React Native, TypeScript / JavaScript, Node.js
  • You have a good knowledge of software development best practice, Agile methodologies
  • You're collaborative, enjoy problem solving, learning and sharing knowledge
  • Ideally you will have a love of the outdoors / nature - you don't need to be an avid 'birder' but have a genuine enthusiasm for the product
