I'm recruiting on behalf of a leading and highly regarded M&E Building Services Contractor in London, widely recognised as one of the most exciting companies to work for in the industry today. With an exceptional growth trajectory and a secured pipeline of major projects across the design & build, commercial office, retrofit, life sciences, and critical services sectors, they are delivering some of the most technically complex schemes across London Zones 1-6.

As part of their continued expansion, they are seeking a Project Director to take the lead on a 30 million pharmaceutical or commercial office scheme in Central London. This role is pivotal to the successful delivery of one of their flagship projects and offers a genuine opportunity to step into an Operations Management position in the near future as the business continues to scale.

The ideal candidate will be an established senior project leader with a background in large-scale M&E delivery, who is now looking to align with a progressive contractor offering long-term career growth, strategic influence, and leadership development at the highest level.

What we're looking for:

  • Commutable to London 5 days per week.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in a similar Senior M&E Project Management or Project Lead role within M&E, building services sector with ideally a tier one.
  • Electrical or Mechanical bias, but strong M&E knowledge is essential.
  • Overseeing major projects upwards of 20 million from inception till completion.
  • Experience conducting audits is essential.
  • Candidates with a H&S Co-ordinator background may be considered for development into the role (not the preferred route).
  • Open to candidates from other industries with transferable H&S experience.

Responsibilities / Skills & Experience:

  • Lead the successful delivery of major M&E packages (typically 10M-40M+) across commercial, infrastructure, healthcare, and mixed-use developments.
  • Provide strategic input into bid preparation, design development, programme planning, and commercial delivery.
  • Act as the senior point of contact for clients, consultants, principal contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead client-facing meetings and presentations, including progress updates, risk reviews, and commercial negotiations.
  • Drive commercial performance across all assigned projects, working closely with commercial teams to monitor budgets, manage variations, and ensure profitability.
  • Lead and mentor project managers, engineers, and site teams across all disciplines (mechanical, electrical, public health).
  • Oversee staff development, succession planning, and recruitment in collaboration with HR.
  • Ensure all installations meet technical specifications, client standards, and statutory regulations.
  • Provide oversight of design development and coordination activities, ensuring design intent is met through to final delivery.
  • Produce and deliver regular board-level reports on project performance, risks, opportunities, and strategic recommendations.
  • Attend internal leadership meetings and contribute to business planning and forecasting.

Remuneration Package:

  • Competitive salary circa 110,000 - 120,000 plus full company package
