We are recruiting a Static Lead Engineer for a world class University. This is a permanent role, and is an amazing opportunity to join the University, on a central London campus, in a step towards a career in management. This is a day shift role, Monday - Friday 8-4; a 35 hour week.

You will be joining the building services maintenance team on of the most iconic London campus locations. You will be working for a leadership team who will encourage you to progress within your career. This is a busy campus and would suit someone who thrives working with people. As this is a client side role, you will love the sense of pride the team have in delivering first class maintenance and engineering services on a world class estate.

Within this lead engineer role you will be supervising a team of engineers, whilst also still working on the tools. The split is around 60% hands on maintenance, 40% leading the team. This Maintenance supervisor role will include:

  • M&E maintenance, planned and reactive, on the University buildings
  • Allocating work to the team of engineers
  • Updating the CAFM system 
  • Being responsible for contractors on site, to liaise, monitor and control contractor operations 
  • Raising PO numbers, maintaining stock levels 
  • Adhering to health and safety, and building regulations at all times

This role will suit a qualified electrician or mechanical / plumbing engineer, with some experience of supervisory duties. 

For this Lead Engineer role we are looking for:

  • Fully qualified electrician, level 3, 17th/18th edition (This is essential for the role)

OR

  • Qualified Mechanical engineer, NVQ/ Degree level (This is essential for the role)

OR

  • Level 3 Plumbing and Heating NVQ /City and Guilds (Essential)

Please note, you must have one of the above qualifications to be considered for this role. We are also looking for:

  • Experience of multi skilled building services maintenance in a similar organisation
  • Experience of working with CAFM systems
  • Some experience of leading a team of engineers. This experience can be minimal, if from a similar environment. 
  • Working knowledge of health and safety which may include an IOSH 
  • Legionella awareness
